Katie McCamant, President of CoHousing Solutions, is regularly requested as a speaker and cohousing expert. After studying architecture in Denmark, Katie cofounded the North American cohousing movement in the 1980s. She has spent the past 30+ years of her career designing, managing and developing countless cohousing projects, and remains an unparalleled authority on the subject.
Katie is available as a speaker on housing, sustainable development, green building and the sharing economy. As a national expert, she also regularly lectures at college campuses such as UC Berkeley Architecture School, forums like the Nashville Civic Design Forum, SPUR, and Conferences like those for Housing California, APA and Congress for New Urbanism.
She’s also available as a media reference for cohousing articles, radio shows, podcasts and TV programs/interviews. In the past, she’s contributed chapters to books and pieces, such as Not Your Mother’s Retirement, and Next Act for Women. Katie regularly facilitates and gives workshops on real estate development, planning, pre-design programming, etc.
